Dr Eduardo Olavarria is the Medical Director of the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Unit at the Hammersmith Hospital, London, UK, and Honorary Senior Lecturer at the Department of Haematology, Imperial College London. He obtained his medical degree at the University of Navarre and a PhD degree from the Autonoma University in Madrid, Spain. He completed his training in haematology and stem cell transplantation between Madrid and London and worked as a clinical research fellow in the Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London.
Dr. Olavarria’s research interests focus on minimal residual disease in chronic myeloid leukemia, immunotherapy in allogeneic stem cell transplantation, the use of unrelated and haplo-identical donors for SCT, and infectious complications of stem cell transplantation.
