AIM: Is the recording of stress and depressive attitude in diabetic patients.
MATERIAL - METHOD: The choice of sample became with the method of random sampling. There were participated 60 adults. There were used three questionnaires, one about demographic data, the Spielberger’s stress questionnaire and the depression scale of Beck.
RESULTS: The majority of the patients are women (58%) married (75%) and belong in the inactive economically population (70%) (Housewives, pensioners etc). Referring to the medication half of the patients received only tablets 30% received combination of insulin and tablets and few only insulin. Referring to the time of beginning of illness the 35% presented the illness the last 20 years the 40% the last 8 years while the 20% the last year. The stress caused by specific conditions exceeds the average only in the 24% of cases and the stress that is expressed as characteristic of personality in 35%.
Referring to the depressive symptoms the 45% present insignificant until minimal depression, the 38% mild depression, the 15% medial and the 2% severe depression, There is also observed strong positive correlation between anxiety and depressive scales.
CONCLUSIONS: The majority of the patients that participated were women of medium age without serious complications (macro and microvascular complications). Half of the patients received medication only tablets, the duration of the illness was 8 years and an important percentage presented anxiety disorders as a permanent characteristic of their personality while they presented simultaneously medial and mild depression.
