Jean-Michel Molina is Professor of Infectious Diseases at the University of Paris 7. He is the Co-chair of a research laboratory on opportunistic infections in immunocompromised hosts, and Head of the Infectious Disease Department at the Saint-Louis Hospital in Paris. This department treats mainly immunocompromised patients, including approximately 2,500 with HIV infection.

His main focus in clinical research is HIV infection, with a special interest in antiretroviral therapy. Professor Molina is Chair of the Clinical Trial Group and Chair of the Antiviral Committee at the ANRS (French National Agency for AIDS Research), where multicentre clinical trials are reviewed and implemented in France. He has been the Principal Investigator of many clinical trials in HIV-infected patients with the ANRS.
